CHRONICLE!!!!!
This past weekend my husband and I were extremely busy between apartment hunting (long story) and BYU racquetball we were swamped so Saturday night we decided we needed date night and so we decided we were going to go to the movie. My husband really wanted to see the new movie Chronicle because it was supposed to be about kids who get super powers and the preview looked okay so we went to see it. Never in my life have I left a show still scratching my head as much as I did. There were unanswered questions, a plot that didn't even make sense, and at no point during the movie did the three boys who got special super powers ever use them for good. I kept hoping. Yep I did, but it didn't happen. The show ends terrible and the entire thing is filmed as if it was a home video from the perspective of this one kid. So the camera is flipping different ways and the entire time it is a horrible view that leaves you with a massive headache at the end. Have I ragged on it enough? My point: It stunk to the max, don't look at the 8.5 starts it got and go see it, you will be very disappointed. The only good thing about the entire show was sitting next to my hubby.
The film style reminds me of "Cloverfield" - same "home camera" idea. It really is nauseating after a while! Sorry it wasn't more fun!
ReplyDeleteGood to know! Sounds like a miss!
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean about the "home camera" feel. It definitely (like Melinda said) nauseating after a while. That sounds lame though that these kids got some powers and never used them for good. Thanks for the heads up about this movie!
